On again today up the mona vale road so I'm told. Didn't get an email, but rocked up last time and got a guernsey.
Nice and sloppy after the rain we've had I expect;)

I want to get my old man on one of these. How do we register interest? He's going to buy something soon enough.

Happy Days.

There was a website for this one:

I went yesterday and drove the new RRS. It was a base model without low range coped well with the course though. I think they are overpriced for what you get.

had a good chat to these guys the other day, its actually getabout driver training that has fairly recently been able to get the "land rover experiance" name for australia. They plan on expanding so i would keep an eye on the website for future drive days.

Purnell in Sydney gives you a "free"* Land Rover off road driver training day run by the Getabout crew with the purchase of your new (not sure about used) Land Rover.

Great day out, and they run you a lot of the car's features, although as a Defender driver the capability is all there, but the feature set is pretty limited... ;)

Very interesting to watch the different vehicle's capabilites - I was staggered how far even the Freelanders got - in a good way, with no disrespect to Freelanders.

* Yes I know it's in the price of the sale...

But is a really good idea to be able to learn about the capabilities of the car with others around that have the experience with the vehicles so they can tell you how near the limit you are - and give you tips on how to get the best performance out of the car :)

I wouldnt have complained if my D4 included a day out with GOE.
I have shared a few days out with Gordon and his good mate RichardK.

Spot on - completely agree.

Especially in this case where the trainers obviously intimately knew the detailed feature sets and settings of all the vehicles: D4 vs Sport vs Freelander vs Evoque.

Defenders were somewhat simpler: if in doubt low range second gear :D

I think you just missed out Andy - we're putting together a training package for Southerns at the moment. It's not as involved as the full-day events GOE currently holds (because of the numbers, these dealer-provided training sessions never are), but it gives you a pretty good introduction to the technologies in the car, something that the salesmen generally can't do.

Cheers,

Gordon
