Just been searching around the internet and stumbled across an adapter that seem to convert pin mount shocks back to eye mounts I have included the link to the part that I found.
Now I was wondering if that part would be suitable for the terrafirma 5" long travel shocks and mounting it up to the back of a disco 1 instead of changing the whole upper shock mounts.
Just stumbled across it and thought I would ask on peoples feedback and if it would fit or not.
Pin to eye converter (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/QA1SS300LT-QA1SS300LT-Upper-Loop-Conversion-Shock-Mount-Kits-/361032027563?pt=Race_Car_Parts&hash=item540f2f8dab&_uhb=1)

I havent seen those before but have seen the pin to eye converters so that you can use toyo or nissan shocks that are eye to eye.
Doesnt look like enough room for the pin to screw in very far.

Hmm, I would be pretty careful, as I remember early Billies for D1 had a pin converter and they could either unscrew or snap off.

The D1/RRC shock mounts have a lot of misalignment and 5 inch shocks would no doubt increase the side forces. AFAIR LRA sell a realigned top mount so that may work with the adaptor.

I have actually broken an eye off a shock on an RRC when I accidentally left one too many tapered washers in place.

I have heard that bilsteins did have a converter but never actually seen one.
Upon viewing the QA1 website as I was curious at to what else they did they look to have other such items with a larger thread insert that could be of better use but still not to sure have included one example but they have many. maybe a better option (http://www.qa1.net/rod-ends-and-related/rod-ends/endura-series/xf-series-chromoly-steel)
They look to be listed as tie rod ends for race cars mostly.
