I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the Engine Number to a Land Rover Defender. If you do, please let me know, it would be a great help.

Thanks

Alex

Hi Alex,

I have spoken to a mechanic at Land Rover for you and the answer to your question is:

(He says)The Defender engine number is located 2 different places:
(so, here we go......)

1) (The easy location) - Ontop of the rocker cover, which involves removing the engine cover.

2) (The hard location) - You will need to look into your engine from your left guard..It is : behind the A/C compressor, below the exhaust manifold.

*Hopefully i got my notes right on this one - cause it was explained to me very quickly!

Good luck with it.....

Cheers

I assume from your avatar that we're talking about a 300Tdi. If so, then this should help:

On my 300TDi, in a Disco, the mechanic got on top of the engine bay and read it from the top of the engine, so the above sounds pretty much spot on, Defender200tdi had to show of and go all out and get pictures. matt
