Hi there. In a D3 for the second time around but first go on the sand last weekend. Can fellow owners please advise the best settings for getting up a decent sand dune?
Ie I assume dsc off, but what mode etc? Thanks.

Tyres down, DSC off, sand mode, command shift and in the right gear, I prefer low range as 5th and 6th will be higher than you need and you can get low gears if you need them, only provide the min amount throttle needed as over revving will bog you down and bring DSC back on.

I would say momentum is your friend. Get up speed before the dune then ease up as you ascend so that you reach the top not too fast and not too slow.
You soon get the hang of it.

Engine seemed to lose power twice right where I needed it. Seemed like electronics interfered otherwise I was up and over.

disengage DSC whenever on the sand.

on the flat cruise in high range is fine. when up for a challenging ascent.

go low range and 2nd or 3rd gear. this way engine revs high but not spinning..

Don't forget you have to DSC off every time you start the engine.
