Think you will need to get used to the look. Think the new discovery when it arrives will be a scaled up big brother to keep it in the Discovery family. Will leave the new Defender when it arrives to be the only practical 4x4 in the range others all being lifestyle vehicles.
Is interesting to note that the new Freelander is to keep the Ford 2.2 diesel which is also use by Peugeot for the initial model run. The new Land Rover 4 cylinder diesel to arrive with the first refresh.
This is it seems due to all if the new engine production being allocated to the new Jaguar X type due to go in sale in January. As the new Freelander is the old car from the front bumper to then B pillar the initial design costs associated with the new engine fitment would have been kept down.

I think the SPORT title is thrown around a bit to easily by car makers these days.I think the name sport should indicate some form performance upgrade over the standard model.
Even the early Range Rover sport was a disco in a sexy black dress. There is nothing sporty about a V6 diesel.Toyota put the sport name on all sorts of ****boxs i saw a Hyundai wagon with sport in it's title nothing sporty comes out of Korea.
Even Mazda boast sporty performance from the Mazda 6,it's all just bull****.While i am all wound up in rant mode just want to know why does Australia call 4x4's SUV's like the yanks do?And when and why did we stop using horsepower to rate engines?Kilowatts WTF,are we making horsepower or bloody electricity.
Europe and the USA still use horsepower so why are we crapping on about making electricity.Done now rant over.

And why did we go from miles per gallon to litres per 100 kilometres???
Why not K's per litre?
Oh! The vehicle looks like any other vehicle of that ilk on the market. I agree with the Territory analogy.

Not my cup of tea but landrover being the innovator has always been is just building what people want. It might not be what I or others want but there's plenty out there to snap up these new trendy machines
