Hi
I have a 2012 D4 in which the iphone 5 won't pair. I am running iOS7.1.2. It seems to pair but just drops out. I am annoyed that the dealer (ULR in Melbourne) says there is nothing that can be done despite it being under warranty. It used to work with the iphone 3. It makes it unsafe to use at present. Can anyone assist?

Thanks.

Make sure the unit is still working with other phones. Big $ if it has failed. Better to have it fixed under warranty. Once it is confirmed working, you will have to wait for other Iphone 5 users to get involved if you still have an issue.

You may find that it is actually the Bluetooth versions that are not totally compatible.

We had a similar problem with the XR6 when SWMBO got a new phone. Eventually, one of the software updates on the phone addressed the issue, and haven't had a problem since.

So, maybe, check Topix, and see if there is a Bluetooth software update available for the car, or if iPhony do one.

Thanks. The dealer says they have up to 40 customers who have this problem. Seems strange that there is such a problem with a widely used phone. I am interested to find out if anyone has an iphone 5 that does pair with a D4 2012.

I have 2013 D4 and have no issues with the iPhone 5 iOS7.1.2 The Apple and Google maps sync well. Have you tried doing a hard reset on your phone i.e. press power button and home button at same time for a few sec's?.

Interesting, I have a 2012 D4 SE... and an Iphone 5 IOS 7.1.2 - Mine talk together perfectly. So it is definitely not a case of the two are not compatible.

It would be interesting to compare the Car software versions between our cars.

Yell out if I can help in any way...

Hi Bytemrk
That is interesting. Same vehicle and same IOS 7.1.2. Do you know how to check car software versions? I'm not too far from you if that is any help.

Thanks
David

Haven't got a clue!..:p But I am sure someone here must be able to tell us.

Happy to see if we can work this one out!

Have you tried a different phone?

See if you can get a friend to pair an iPhone 4, 5, or 6.

Did you try deleting the connection from you phone and then re connecting it back to the car as i have the 5s running the latest updated iPhone software and a my13 D4 and haven't had any issues at all. Try going to your bluetooth settings and click on the Land Rover one for the car and go forget this device then repair it back up i always use phone to car not car to phone i find it easier and quicker.

Hi all
As a follow up I kept pestering Landrover and the dealer. For a long time they kept trotting out the issue was with the phone. After many trips and phone calls they finally pulled the dash apart, changed a part and hey presto it works!

Thanks to all those for the help.

Have you tried updating to IOS 8.1.
