Hi guys
I know a few of you have been purchasing from the sales from Frontline Machinery...
Can anyone give me some idea what the ATVs go for?
The mower is about to crap itself and I need something to pull the harrow and the weed sprayer etc...and was thinking about getting a Quad to do so.
I don't have a heap of money available at the moment so looking at a few options.
I note they have two types the suzuki and the honda....I know nothing about ATVs all we need is something to pull the things as stated above nothing fancy

I know friends who have Yamahas and have had many Yamaha quads before and swear by them never had any issues at all and never let them down also i know a few farmer maters who have honda as well and know they are very good to, i haven't heard much about Suzuki so can't really say much there. All i know is hearing from a few mates that Polaris are pretty crap and tend to overheat and they have to stop and cool down that was about 5 years ago they had them so dunno if they have changed them now or if someone else can shed light on that issue but thats what I've heard off firm friends who've had them.

Honda do a hydrostatic 500 model that be good for towing, whilst Yamaha have a CVT which although good, is still a belt drive.:D

The two market leaders in ATV's are Honda & Polaris. That's world wide.
I've had 3 Polaris' in the last 12 years and been used on my dairy farm. Haven't had any problems like nat-89 spoke of. Still have my 1st & 3rd Polaris and would buy another. Bought the Polaris because it was easy for my wife to ride. Throttle right hand / brake left hand with a CVT transmission. VERY comfortable to ride especially with my bad back. My new one even has power steering. After using power steering its a bugger to go back to my older bike without.
But each to their own & horse's for courses. Honda also had an excellent reputation

There is an auction on next week will keep an eye on the prices for the atv,s not sure about what you need for towing how lge is the weed sprayer:)
just had a look they have both Suzukis and polaris in this auction both 500cc so they should both tow your sprayer that would be the heaviest I think

nah I think the harrow wouldbe the heaviest butto be honest if my yard machine mower can pull them with ease I would expect a 4wd Quad to do it with ease
if you coould let me the the sort of prices they go for Geoff that would be really helpful :)

Thats good to hear they may have the problem sorted but i know my friends lived out in central qld so I'm not sure if the temperature difference between Vic and Qld could have made them overheat but if a yamaha and polaris went out the yamaha had no problems and polaris had to stop and let it cool down after a fair bit of heavy riding around trails and that. Hopefully they've sorted them out now or it could have been a dud couple i know of, who knows.

Lou,
I have a Kawasaki and prefer them but in respect of others all major brands are good.
I would get the one which has the best local dealer for service and parts.
Local dealer is the big thing.
Cheers

Unfortunately they don't appreciate towing around the scooper to pick up their own crap :D

And to everyone else I would not be looking at new just a cheap ag bike someone no longer wants.
Was looking at the auctions because people seem to be pulling cars out of the sale a reasonable price so was hoping the same might be for the ATVs too
