I have resisted the temptation, I've banged on about the bah humbug of modern vehicle technology and the fact that I don't have aircon and hardly any heating.

I chopped in the 98 130 ever faithful during my five year occupation never really missing a beat and bought a disco TD5.
Only 127 on the clock neat as a button, only the lamination on the paint is being Australianised as was the case with the Defender.
Although I am resisting the urge to paint it drab olive green, i would like to do something about the top coat but it might be cost prohibitive.
Oh and the roof lining is doing it's thing but got a quote around $380 so might as well get it re-lined.

Had my first run in with the amigo's today (day two) it wouldn't go through the gears (auto) and had the by now famous M/S flashing.
Checked out the forum and got a new original part battery for $235 and it's all good again phew!
Thanks for posting the info guys, it does prove what a valuable resource this site is I'm very grateful.
Just looking for someone with a knackered disco one box now so I can swipe the CDL from it.

Posting a picture on here has proved difficult because I didn't add enough text to the posting.
Well hopefully you get to see the new car on the block!

Have you got a Nanocom. If you don't I would recommend that you do.

First thing I got after getting my D2. Paid for itself in less than 18 months.

I always intended getting one Dave, especially living up in Kalgoorlie, but never got around to it. Bought the D2 probably close to 10 years ago now, and have never needed a Nanocom - and the D2 does get pushed through some pretty rough stuff occasionally (more so now that the young bloke has it).

He rang me last night - it has a fuel leak coming from the rear right side of the engine. Using RAVE, we found the problem (an o'ring). I have a decent o'ring kit in my shed in Kalgoorlie - he went around and got it - last I heard from him, he was working on it. Haven't heard anything since, so assume all is well.

Anyway, he's driving it down here to Perth next week and I believe he's booking it in with Steve at Lifestyle 4WD to get a couple of things done on it that he hasn't had time to do himself.

That D2 has proven to be one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever had. :D

I have used my Nanocom 5 times. Once to diagnose 3 amigos and fix(option B)

Once to power bleed brakes. Once to diagnose power loss and clear fault to get power back. (over boost)

On two occasions I have had a can bus time out with the auto UCU. Went into limp home mode. Cleared fault and all fixed.
