HELP -Central Locking Problem

Hello all,

I'm having a slight issue trying to fix the central locking in my puma 110.

One of the rear passenger doors stopped locking/ unlocking, so i figured that the door lock actuator had died, which is a common problem. I have already replaced the other passenger door actuator a few months ago.

However since connecting up the new actuator, no matter which polarity i hook it up, the new actuator won't move! :censored:

Has anyone come across this problem before? Could it be that the master actuator in the drivers door is not sending the signal to that door? I've done my best avoiding ripping the trim off another door so far, would like to keep it that way unless it sounds like that could be the issue.

Its the wire in the flexible rubber bit that goes to the door.

Hi, if all the other locks are working well the problem is with that door's wiring only cos all the lock/unlock motors are in parallel fed by the alarm ECU, the problem used to be where the wiring enters into the door, if you have RAVE see in connector views if you can locate the plug before the wiring enters into the door and if it's easy to access you can measure if you get the command to lock/unlock in it, for rear doors is C2008 - LH and C1989 -RH one orange one pink wire.... or you can reach to the wires before they meet to door, insert thin sewing needles in the wires through the isnsulation measure on the needles

That was exactly the problem! one of the wires had severed, ran some new wires, hooked it all back up and it's working a treat.

No worries - an extra special defender feature that happens when you have kids who use the rear doors. I've had this happen to 2 different Defenders now. Although I also had the issue with the lock jamming because one of them was sticking their chupa chup sticks down the window gaps.... Found 10 sticks in there when it was stripped down.
