After receiving a dint in my bonnet from a stone I reckon I would like to install a bonnet protector to my new D4
I contacted ULR from Malvern who reckon they have only ones for a D3 but people are modifying them for the D4
Can any one tell me what has to be done to get it to fit
Thanks in advance
Richard

Did you get it from ULR Malvern as may be different
There may also be differences in the MY 14 D4s
They seemed to have changed a number of thinks at the front
The dint is like hail damage
I may be able to get it popped out or will just cover it over 😊

Paint it black from the back too...
Hides the dirt then :)

Is the MY 14 bonnet a different radius to the early D4s??? I only ask as both ARB and OL said the bumper is a different shape, they were modifying the bullbar infil panel to put a early bar on a MY14.Brian should be able to check his against his bosses;);););)

Just went downstairs with tape measure and checked ..............
Bonnets appear to be identical,
EXCEPT ................. the newer one looks to be inferior. It does not have the words "LAND ROVER" spelled out in the badge across the front. They have replaced this with a lower spec alternative ............. :p:p:p:p

That's a damn good idea.
Why didn't I think.......... oh, wait..
If you look on Evilbay, you can get a silver transfer with your choice of wording to put on the protector after you have painted it.
If you paint it to match the car, the protector just disappears, and you struggle to know it is there, but it is still doing its job.

G'Day All,
I know this is an old thread but I though that some might be interested in the confirmation that the 'old' bonnet protector will indeed fit a MYD4.
I recently purchased a bonnet protector from Barbagello's with the 25% discount available to AULRO members and found the instructions actually referenced a 2005 D3 - see attached.
Apart from a small (self) installer induced crack, p.s. do not tighten the screws too much...:no2:, it was a quick and painless install.
Happy LRing everyone...

I ended up installing one on my14 as well
I also have the obligatory crack in it 😃
The other thing I found was the 3m stick on bits that go on the clips was a bit small
I went and got some stuff that people stick over there cars for protection and cut a some larger stick on bits.
Another thing I did was put news paper over the engine so when I dropped s screw or one of the bits I did not have to go fishing around in the engine bay
Found this out the hard way 😁

Yes the D3 protector does fit the D4 as previously said, why didnt they just put it out and say its for a D4 , doesnt look like it at first but i think the plastic/acrylic is a bit out of shape from travelling, be patient it fits. Dealer said he couldnt get one and I believe him but the one I eventually got was ebay a repairer in Southport "made in australia"! who? Hope the photos help
