What are people paying for their Historic/Club rego including CTP?
I just got my ACT Historic Registration renewal for my Haflinger and as a % of last years fees it has gone up substantially. ($100 to $140) .
Depending on CTP provider my options range form $140.10 to $185.10.
The main reason for my increase is the application of a new $34 Lifetime Care and Support Levy. For all registration classes this same amount including vehicles that are registered on the concessional Historic Car registration scheme even though these vehicles have highly restrictive usage conditions that restrict their usage to Club events and maintenance requirements.
Vehicles that have full registration and have unlimited use on the road pay the same amount. While I can accept these sort of levies, it would seem the Historic Registration with its limited use is subsidising other users as far as this levy is concerned.
Other components of Historic Registration such as the CTP and Registration fee are reduced in line with the low usage requirements of Historic Registration and so should this levy.
So I am interested what sort of fees in other States pay for the privileged of not being able to use their vehicles except on special occassions.

Victorian 90 day club permit:
Permit fee $41.10
Logbook fee $2.60
TAC charge $92.40
Total $136.10
I'm about to get the Inter on a 45 day permit. That should be $68.05.
This all works out to under $1.52 per day.

Yeah then multiply that by 5 when you wake up one morning and find you have somehow ended up with 5 old toys on permits :o  :wasntme: :lol2::Rolling:

You need a few more toys. A 101 perhaps?
Oh, dear. I just counted. I've got five toys on full rego (not counting the trailers).

The thing that annoys me is really we should only pay one TAC amount, you can only drive 1 vehicle at a time.

Interesting here in Qld a V8 is the same price as 2lt,r both the 101 and the 80" are $185.40. And yes the "Traffic Improvement Fee" is the same on our full registered vehicles as our Concessional Vehicles.

Thanks for all the comments - looks like we are about right. I just recall a bunch of people on here over the past few years talking about club rego being under $100 but I guess they were just talking about the rego component and not the other bits such as CTP etc.
cheers

Historic rego in SA if anyone is interested.

sa.gov.au - Historic vehicle registration fees (http://www.sa.gov.au/topics/transport-travel-and-motoring/transport-fees/motoring-fees/vehicle-registration-fees/historic-vehicles)
Conditional registration scheme for historic, prescribed left-hand drive and street rod vehicles
Historic, prescribed left-hand drive and street rod vehicles may be:
•conditionally registered to obtain reduced fees
•registered for periods of one, two or three years
•driven on a road for up to 90 days during any one year period of registration.
Applicants must be a financial member of a recognised motor vehicle club.
Reduced fees, legislation
In recognition of their limited use, they are exempt from registration charges and only pay a third party insurance premium, administration fees and a reduced emergency services levy.
The scheme is governed by section 25 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1959, regulations 15 and 16 of the Motor Vehicles Regulations 2010 and the Code of Practice for the Conditional Registration Scheme.
All vehicle owners participating in the scheme must comply with the legislative requirements and maintain their vehicles in a roadworthy condition at all times.
Conditional registration scheme conditions
The following conditions apply to vehicles registered under the conditional registration scheme for historic, left-hand drive and street rod vehicles.
•The vehicle cannot be driven for fee, hire or reward.
•The owner of the vehicle must be a financial member of a recognised motor vehicle club.
•Before the start of each journey, details of the journey must be recorded in a log book.
•The owner must provide a statutory declaration to their club annually, verifying the eligibility of their vehicle to remain registered under the scheme.
•The owner must make their vehicle available for inspection at the request of the Registrar of Motor Vehicles or their recognised motor vehicle club.
Log books must be:
•issued by recognised motor vehicle clubs
•in a form approved by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles
•carried in the vehicle at all times during a journey.
Definitions of historic, prescribed left-hand drive and street rod vehicles
The Motor Vehicles Act 1959 provides the following definitions.
An historic vehicle:
•is a vehicle manufactured before 1 January 1979 that has not been modified from its original design to any significant extent.
OR
•is a vehicle manufactured on or after 1 January 1979 but before 1 January 1983 that has not been modified from its original design to any significant extent and has been registered under the conditional registration scheme in South Australia at some time prior to 1 July 2012.
The fees>
Duration Fee - ITC* entitled Fee - no ITC* entitlement
12 months $119.00 $112.00
24 months $238.00 $224.00
36 months $357.00 $336.00
•input tax credit
The fee includes the compulsory third party insurance premium, emergency services levy and administration fee, for both metropolitan and country premium classes (19/39/69 and 89) and for all types of vehicles, cycles and trailers.
An administration fee also applies.
I am sure though the way this state Govt hemmoraged money before the last election (and then made the mistake of winning and now have found all sorts of blowouts and problems that cost significantly more so are now in dire financial position) that these and all other rego etc will increase significantly soon....
