View Full Version : Is This A Scam?

Below is a copy of an email I have received. I have reason to believe this could be legit due to the fact I have been asked to log on and not send details to a replied email.

I was reluctant to use the supplied link though, so I went to paypal in my normal way. When there I was not promoted about what the email contains.

As I keep no money in Paypal does it matter if someone has unauthorized access? I only use it when I purchase something.

This should be OK, but i understand your concern. Sometimes you have to do this with Yahoo mail.

If you have any doubts about your paypal account. Delete it and re-register, with different info (passwords soon). A bit of a pain

It's a scam.
PayPal say don't use hyperlinks in emails and they don't send hyperlinks. PayPal say only to access PayPal through there log in site.
Go to the PayPal site directly and log in you will probably find no mention of the required in the email.

Paypal will use your first name in their communications.
Go into your paypal account ( Do not use hyper links) and check your acc sttus, if there is any thing pending from paypal it will be there.
We get a lot of scam emails and it originates from our ebay account contact details

Its a scam. I got a similar one allegedly from my ISP the other day. Ignore it or, if you want to check, forward it to Paypal's help address and ask them to verify it. Don't hold your breath. These organizations never ask for an immediate change of password. To change it you first have to log in with your current password.

I have already done this as I said in my OP.

I have reported it as suggested by be utey and bob 10.

Thanks every one for putting my mind at ease.
