I knew it was wrong too, but was being lazy. Sorry!

Lost threads, like lost car keys, are generally found under the lounge cushions. Or they've been moved when someone else did the tidying up. Next time you lose your thread, use a search tool, like a pair of glasses (unless you've lost them too  ).

G'day all, i am not really sure why car threads are being moved as the general chat theme is "a chat around the campfire" talking about cars is pretty common around a campfire.I spend a bit of time and effort posting these threads and have found there is a few people who like to read them. Why are these threads not able to be viewed in the general chat where more people will see them and engage in conversation?

Any thoughts from the moderators would be great.

Car threads have been in the Parking Lot for a very long time.

There are specific areas in the forum for specific topics, this is to allow a person to find the information most relevent to them. An enthusiast of motor racing wishing to read about motor racing would logically look to the area for motor racing-the parking lot. Likewise, someone interested in aircraft should browse the aircraft section, railway enthusiasts the railway section and so on.
Another example-just because General Chat has a higher readership than the Freelander section doesn't mean Freelander technical posts should be in General Chat, because, if you are wanting to learn about and discuss only Freelanders, relevent threads would be lost amongst the General Chat dilution.

If your car threads are left in General Chat, you'd have to put up with dickheads like me posting crap about how boring taxi racing is and why don't the racing drivers stick to the speed limits of Mt Panorama like everyone else has to and why do they still have their license despite extreme speeding on public roads? Stick it in the relevant spot, and you can expect relevant discussion that won't **** you off... :D

I can see it from both sides... I often look in general chat to c what's goin on, and occasionally look at the random car threads in there... I don't however look in the specific places... like the parking lot, as its not something that interests me. I think lots of us never look in specific places, but everything has a place and we just have to run with the system. If there was no form of order, there'd be random threads everywhere! :D

If people used the New Posts button, they'd find everything that's new each time they log on.
