I have a question regarding adaptive headlights on the D3.
I have seen various images online and I can't see where the differences between a normal Xenon Headlight and an adaptive xenon headlight.
There are two images attached here
The one in the box is supposed to be a normal Xenon HID headliaght and the second image an adaptive version of same.
I can't spot any difference, if there is in fact a difference could someone knowledgeable please point it out ..
if in fact they are both the same species (either both non Adaptive or both adaptive) could someone upload an image that would show the difference please
Adaptive

non adaptive
Thanks
Steve

I can see that the one not in the box has a smaller surround on the centre section compared with the one in the box. As the adaptive needs room to swivel sideways I suspect it is adaptive.

As Graeme pointed out - look around the "eyeball"

As well as the chameleon-like "eyeball", the cornering light (directly under the indicator light) is a real bulb and a fake in the normal bi-xenon.

Jonesey thanks also but I wonder can you tell me when you say 'fake' does it come on, but with differing characteristics to the active one, or is it completely bogus and does not ignite at all ??.

It is a shiny lump that doesn't light up at all. ;)

I looked for the globe in the cornering light but couldn't see the difference.
