Hi guys was out driving near some telegraph lines this morning and came across this mud flap style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif . It appears to be from a 2000 plus model white defender extreme. Does anyone own it? (Hint Noddy- this is where you come in).

Finding the rest of the car would have been better style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

I looked but it was no where to be seen.

Jason- when those puddles dry up it will turn up. Matt

Hi Ace
If nobody claims it,I will have it to put up on the wall in my shed, its the closest I can get to having an Extreme in my shed at the moment.

Sorry Landy seeing as Noddy was the only one there with a defender, and he is missing one, i am guessing its his. And gauging by the price i doubt he will have any problems claiming it back. Matt

I've lost one, not sure where, but if it made its way to NSW I'd be mighty surprised!

You never know RMP, pens grow legs and walk off, mud flaps might. Matt

Back off you vultures!! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

You guys should all be tow truck drivers!

Ace -- can you put it under lock and key and I will pick it up at the next gathering. There are certainly a few beers coming your way!

Believe it or not, LRA want $178.00 for a new set of two 8O 8O

I can prove this is Kimba's! Have a look at the following link to see the abovmentioned item in place.

Ace can vouch that this is the location where he found it!!! Did you walk or drive up it?

Noddy

I was close to losing two of my flaps (hanging loose) off the Defender.

When I went round and tightened them all up I added a few spring washers
and flats to get a good tight fastening. Six months later and there still tight .. 8)
The size of the bolts is a bit of a worry, the flaps take a bit of a pounding in the rough.

Good suggestion Redbak!

Mine were ripped off when reversing over one of those humps, because they are so long you end up running over them in reverse. A small length of chain to stop them from folding forwards is going to be my next solution.

Noddy

I was thinking of the stop chains to , but reluctant to put them on in case they snag on something and create a bulldozer effect .

If they are that much trouble just take em off. Who cares idf the Explorer behind you gets a broken windscreen. It won't be following for long anyway...

Ace: (and everyone) Just send any Xtreme bits you find to me and eventually I'll have an Xtreme Ute. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Hi Noddy, yep that is where i found it, it was on the far side of the second hump, the one you got beached on and had to back up a bit.
No problem at all it is locked up safe and you can pick it up when you come next month. It was ripped clean off, the bolt heads holding it on pulled straight though the mud flap. I think it might be an idea to get some 2-3 mm thick and bolt it to both sides. The drill the holes to fix it on and re-fit it, the original holes are no good. Matt

Thanks Ace -- all things going well I should be picking up a set of new ones from an auction on ebay and I will fit one of these. I will then keep the old one as another spare.

Now for getting that almighty ding out of my fuel tank!!!!

Here is an easy fix.
Weld a chain link to a bolt and bolt it thru the bottom of the flap. When going offroad use an occy strap or something similar to hook it to the spare wheel.
Then if you loose the mudflap,at least it will be easy to find,it will be connected to a spare wheel,or a spare wheel and a back door. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Yeah but it will stand out more clearly when it is lieing in the middle of the bush. Matt
