He hasn't posted in 2 weeks now, which is most unusual.
I was having a PM conversation with him, regarding some bits, and all was well, but then he has dropped off since.
Just hoping all is well. The parts are secondary.
Anyone know him & can maybe check up on him?

Most probable if we believe some of the posts here about the pharmaceuticals conspiracies, he is in some of that fiscal paradise islands in the Caribe to deposit the brown paper bags :D

I get the feeling Dave is choosing not to be here:
Last Post: 4/9/2014
Last Visit: 22/9/2014
By the time of his last visit to the forum there were 15 posts in this thread asking about his well being.
Possible reasons as to why he didn't let everyone know he was ok at that time? Perhaps offended by some comment similar to Olbod or, getting over the addiction to AULRO:o and attending AULRO Anonymous :lol2:, perhaps he's lurking around here under a pseudonym seeing what nice things people are saying about him - kinda like hanging around at your own funeral after you die:D. or banned by SWMBO for too much on here and not enough time for her... who knows?
Just hope he's OK and that he heads back here some time in the near future. Even if only to let us know if he finished that disco!
If and when he comes back, I'm sure he'll be in for the kind of ear bashing you got from your mum, when you little, when you scared the crap out of her by disappearing at the shops without her knowing where you were.

14th May 2016, 06:49 PM
Well here goes the story of the last 18 months...
Back in September 2014, I woke up one morning with a huge headache, the mummy and daddy of all headaches. So I made an appointment to see my GP early that morning (my GP surgery is the best), and when I got there i fell flat on my face.
Ambulance ride to hospital, and by the time I'd got there, I had lost the sight in my left eye, had major blurred vision in my right, and lost most of my hearing.
Was shoved in and out of various machines as they searched for brain tumours, bleeds, evidence of strokes, aneurysms. When only one eye would react to light, the doctor was a bit concerned!
Was eventually diagnosed as "brain shift" (and yes, I've definitely got one thanks Muppet, I've got pictures to prove it) caused by a massive spinal fluid leak. You can guess where it was leaking, as I apparently looked like half a Kim Kardashian.;)
So more prodding around in the spine with needles as they tried to stop the leak.
By the time I left hospital, most of my vision and hearing had returned. I did make the mistake of going back to work too quickly though.....:(
I did spend the following months being chauffeured by my wife, as the headaches and visual disturbances made driving, watching TV, looking at screens or anything bright absolutely awful. But as you do, I soldiered on at work, and those around me were making up for the bits I couldn't do.
So with the back pain and head pain, I got to the stage where my mental health deteriorated.
Badly. I won't go into the details, but I'm still upright and breathing. :D
Things didn't improve a few weeks later, when I got my redundancy notice. And there started a couple of months of pretty shabby treatment by my now ex employers.
Since I left there, there has been all manner of excitement, court cases, rounds of medical tests, different treatments......and I'm now at least at the stage where I have improved immensely from where I was.
Still on the return to fitness, the back has improved, and I'm looking for a new line of work (as potential employers have seemed to look at my recent history and run away).
So I hope you'll forgive and understand the absence. I'm back to make Muppet's life a misery again.

Where I've not been working for over a year (no 1 hour commute, and sitting in an office for 10 hours in a day), plus the treatment I've had in the meantime, the back has improved. I can feel my right foot again!
No other treatment options though, it's as good as it's going to get. I'm at the stage where I can tolerate a lot more physically, just have to be very careful as it stirs up quickly if I get too ambitious.

Yes,dropped Deb at RPH to spend time with mum,had to go to Cardup to pick up a set of GOE wheels for the D4,wich was the South West hwy side of Thomas Rd.I knew Thomas rd met the fwy so headed that way to get back to Perth to pick Deb up.Made me laugh when I saw that servo, especially considering I got lost there a few years back almost to the day.Back then it didnt exsist on Tom Tom.These days I have no GPS aids:(:(:(:(:(:(

My sympathies...
Mine was the opposite, a fluid-filled cyst that blocked the flow of Brain fluid. Headaches, stiff neck/pain, and with hindsight... deterioration of some mental processes etc.
They poked a sharp pipe through the brain.... (Yes, also go the CT and MRI scans to prove both allegations) and made a 'by-pass'.
Shrt story and Bottom Line is... it seems that any 'insult' to the brain is going to result in ...temporary dis-ordered thinking/memory/mental stability, just as a cardiac intervention targets one's 'emotional stability' for a while...
The Good News is...as I suspect you've already noticed... things eventually meander back towards what was normal. How long.... is an individual thing.
And yes, been in that Dark Place too.... and out again.
Cheers,
james in Gosnells WA.

That certainly sounds like fun you wouldn't want to repeat James!
The explanation i was given by the neurologist is that brain/nerve tissue heals at a much slower or very inconsistent rate compared with other tissues. Healing time? Think of a number and double it.
It took a year before the bulk of my symptoms had subsided. The worst of it is gone now, I tend to get headaches when I'm tired, and my left eye aches at the same time. :(
