Both part of the Zanth series written by Piers Anthony.
"A spell for chameleon and The color of her panties ''.
Brilliant stuff.
Betty also loved these books and she used to get them from the library.
She used to name birds and animals after characters from these history books.
I am slowly getting all of them, a couple of dozen in the series.
Panties of course should never be displayed in the land of Zanth and men must turn their eyes away and not look.
The adult conspiracy is stuff that must be kept from children.
The kids of course are aware of the conspiracy and spend a lot of their time trying to discover what it is.
This is my favourite book in the series.
