Hi there.
Non LR issue here.
Mums MY05 Liberty has the McIntosh however many billion speaker system.
ATM there's an odd 'thump' from the sub with any sort of bassy song.
No, I'm not playing doof doof :p
No, I haven't messed with the bass settings.
I've included a video, it seems that when you place a finger on the diaphragm to 'dampen' it, the noise goes away.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
P.S I make no apologies for song choice

Have a close look at the suspension ie the rubber bit around the speaker diaphragm.
It's probably split.
If it is there are people who can repair them.

You are quite correct, there is a split.

just looked at your video,I had this in a mates car, the silicone or whatever it is that holds your speaker up is either stretched or split.. the speaker is touching the rest of the framework etc...I am not sure what can be done I assume there is a repair option but dont know if you can do it yourself..
someone will pop up and let you (well us..) know Im sure.. pretty sure you can fix it.
