Have a look at http://forums.overlander.com.au/viewtopic....der=asc&start=0 (http://forums.overlander.com.au/viewtopic.php't=22673&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0) and read the diatribes from the Toyota owners.

Their comments only prove how arrogant and petty they are. I dont even look at that forum anymore. I get enough biased crap from the magazines, at least in them it isnt personal. Matt

We the persecuted should be used to this now, it only makes the passion stronger,
'we are the wandering tribe and this Forum is our Jerusalem'.
We do have broad shoulders, they can throw mud but as our landies are so oil leak ridden, the mud will never have any where to stick. LOL

Overlander has become really tragic.

The only thing I now look at is the photoghraphy forum which seems to be a good bunch of people.

It is a real shame.

It has it's moments there. Mostly the downer moments are when somebody is attacked personally, or a pointless argument like which is the better 4x4, is diesel or petrol better etc breaks out. That or somebody tries to impose their views upon others...

For the most part, I find the overlander forum as usefull as this one (that said I do like this one better).

Yes, there is a lot of banter and joking that does on, and some do take it personally (as happens here occasionaly as well), but most of it is in good humor. Irony is that the TDV6 Disco 3 just won the overlander 4WDOTY style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif

Mind you,the feb issue isn't supposed to be on shelves untill tomorrow, but I guess my newsagent was keen style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

There seem to a few individuals who cannot accept that not everyone wants to buy/own a Nissan or Toyota. I get sick of them ramming dowm everyone's throat that they are somehow of superior intellect to anyone who does not subscribe to their views.

Great news about the D3....can only imagine what that will prompt :?

Interesting stuff.

Such is life on the web.

I am working on an article about Landrover and Jeep owners, and what makes these two marques special. I will be interested to see the reaction of these people to that article, provided it is a well-worded rational response. (yes, yes, I'm optimistic)

It is also interesting to note that in my several interviews for that article all the owners focused on why they loved their marque. Not one ever made a derogatory remark about another marque.

I would have to agree that Land Rover owners, cant comment on jeep owners i dont know many, are alot nicer than the rest. If you go to a 4wd show and ask a Land Rover owner questions about his rig he is more than happy to answer them, in some cases its hard to stop them. Jap crap driving so and so's are for more unapproachable. Some are nice, but others are just plain rude.

I cant wait to read youre article RMP. Matt
