Hello,
I was driving the car with my wife seat in the passenger seat. She needs to pick up something from the back seat so she put her knee on her seat to go to the back seat. In that moment Airbag light come on on the dashboard.
After some internet investigation I check the yellow conectors under passenger seat (also disconnect and reconnect) but nothing change. Then I read lot of post of BMW X5 owners with similar problem. The cause is the passenger sensor that can be broke with the knee or a kid jumping on the seat. So I think this is what had happened. On eBay you can easily find a bypass piece to install in a black is under BMW passenger seat to avoid the problem.
I thought that will be the solution but I can not find that box under my L322 seat.
My question is if anybody has used this BMW solution and is compatible with our car. Any other solution for this problem?
Thank you very much in advance

Welcome to the forum.
Have you checked to see if the module is still connected under he seat ? Ensure that you power down the entire cars electrical system before doing this, airbags can kill if accidently activated.
Do you have access to a diagnostic tool ?
Personally I wouldn't bypass anything to do with the SRS Airbag system, there are serious safety and legal ramifications if you get it wrong !
Try this to see if you can get the fault code cleared in the first instance:
Resetting ALL Defect Codes
Ignition key must be “off”.
• Press and hold the Check Control button in the instrument cluster (RIGHT button), and turn the ignition key to the first position (KLR).
* You will first see "Check Control OK", some seconds later you will see "Test Nr.01"
* Push the left button on the instrument cluster to see the car's identification number. Add the 5 digits (not 6) together and write down that number, you will need it for unlocking all the functions. Example: A123457 will lead to 2+3+4+5+7 = 21
* Push the right button until you see "Test Nr.19"
* Push left button until you see the number that is equal to the one you calculated above
* Push right button again
* Using the left button select 21. Reset all defect codes
* Press the Right button to select
If this doesn't work you will need Test Book or something similar to interrogate the electronics.
If it is the module, I would speak to Triumph Rover Spares in SA, as they have a number of L322's in stock. I don't know what the local price is , but in the UK your looking around $A140 + postage :censored:
Best of luck

This isnt a solution... Its a bodge...
In the event of an accident would you like your passenger to have SRS or not?

The bypass modules I have seen just make the SRS computer think there is always a passenger in the seat. That means the airbag would go off in a crash even if the seat was unoccupied. I doubt that would be a major drama.

That is right! Finally I bought the bypass from BMW because I could find the black box under the passenger seat which is exactly the same than the BMW one.
After installing the bypass the light still on so I went to a dealer (not specific for Land Rover) to reset the fault code but he said is not possible. He can reset the rest of the codes but when he tries to get in the airbag ones it ask some kind of code and is not possible.
Any idea of how to solve this? By the way, I tried what explained before in the pan l control and it also do not worked.
Thanks in advance
