All
I wrote to Mantec a while back to see if they were still making a front bash plate for the L322. They weren't. But (some months later) I received this email last week. I will let everyone know if its "viable" or cost prohibitive (esp once freight is added).
I've added some photos of the bashplate (plus other underbody protection mantec used to do) in case anyone is interested.
We are now currently going through a price review for this product as we do not have this on our price list anymore and we sort of made the part redundant.
But as I said we do make one off’s for customers and it looks like it will now happen. I am just waiting for the directors and head of engineering to give me a price and I will give it you as soon as I get it.

Would it not be more cost effective to have one made here?
I might even give it a go myself...
**** :censored: now you have done it, watch this space

UPDATE: I will have an update this week from Mantec who are manufacturing new front (per G4 Challenge vehicle) and fuel tank guards for the L322.
At least one Brisbane forum member plus myself are interested. Darren from Mantec is confirming price plus freight to Australia tomorrow so I will let you all know and if interested just email Darren directly at Darren.Williams@mantec.co.uk
Plates for 2002-2009 L322 cars is a certainty; he wanted photos of underneath at front the 2010-2012 model car to check no changes are needed; I emailed these yesterday.
cheers

Is there much under the car at risk? The compressor is protected and everything seems pretty ok. I can see a front plate to protect steering could be useful.

At least one Member dented a fuel tank off road, but otherwise I tend to agree.

Finally fitted the front bash plate today, ready for our 6000km Outback Trip - Saturday departure!
We had fitted the fuel tank guard shortly after it arrived, but I discovered (yes, I should have known better) that one of the two mounting plates (for the front guard) was missing....most odd. Our theory is that the trucking company that trucked the car from Melbourne to Brisbane back in 2013, used the front mounting points for the sump guard as tie down points on the truck and fractured the welds by ratcheting too tight.....so, the guys at APT Fabrications in Brisbane made up a nice new plate and bolted it firmly in place. :D
