The battery in my Samsung Galaxy S4 thingy is only lasting 6 or so hours with moderate usage before it hits about 15%. Then it will sit there for a while and suddenly drop to nada.
Damn phone (and battery) is only 12 months old if that.
Do I just need to buy a new battery do ya reckon? I'd have expected it to last longer than that.

Any chance it is searching for a network all the time? I had that problem in the UK recently.

I had the same problem, bought a new battery it didn't help, battery life even got shorter then it went into thermal self destruct. virus perhaps ? I could not fix it so trashed the phone.

A couple of updates ago this was an issue on all galaxy s4 phones.
Restore to factory and update to the latest software and try again.

Ron I don't think its that.
Dizza - restore what to factory? I think it updates itself so should be up to date anyway ?!

I have recently had the same problem.Moderate usage but in the last 3 weeks battery capability has become worse than my old S3.
I don't fiddle with the settings.
How do I restore factory settings
Cheers

Settings -> accounts -> backup and reset -> factory data reset
Make sure you get a copy of all of your piccies and contacts before you do it.
Try taking all of your photos off too. If there is a corrupt image (or amy media file) the phone will get locked in a cycle trying to search for new media, draining the battery [emoji6]
