He did maggot, i cant remember which thread, but he said something yesterday.

I am still waiting for my copy to arrive, it hasnt turned up in the mailbox yet, i am quite ****ed off. Hopefully tommorow.

The feb issue will also reveal 4x4 Australia's choice in their version of 4wdoty. They have two, the V8 and the TDV6. Will let you know when that arrives.

How good would a trifecta of 4wdoty's be. But this should give the Overlander boys something to stew over. Matt

I never said i was going to take the bones out of the stew, i want them to choke on it as well. How good will it be when we tell them that D3 won 4wdoty in both Overlander and 4x4 Australia, I think we have a great chance at 4x4 Australia as the editor is a big landy fan. Matt

It will be interesting to see how the Disco 3 sales fair after such a great intro to the Aussie market. It would be good to see a land rover product back up the pointy end of the sales figures. I just hope that Land Rover continue to improve it and not leave it so long like the Disco II. They need to do this to keep improving and take more sales away from the bittsamissan toy cars. Matt

So did Jason- AKA Grand Rover. He called them a bunch of meat heads, they didnt go for that.

But someone cleared it up. It was released to the Australian public at the Sydney motor show in October, so it qualifies, even if it cant be purchased by the average joe blow yet.

Arent they ever. One bloke had the nerve to tell me that i am a typical landy owner, i can give it but i cant take it. All i said was that it will be his little secret that a pajero is better off road than any landy. All he could do was have a go at a typo. I told him he was petty and i didnt want to start a **** slinging contest. He called me a typical landy owner, i again told him he was petty, and he then told me he was only joking. Pussy. Matt

Hey Guys,

Quick update on the 'finalists' etc:

#1 = Discovery 3 SE TdV6....and wait for it (the overlander buddys will love this fact) finishing a WHOPPING 12 full points ahead of #2!! 8O

#2 = BMW X5

#3 = Discovery 3 SE V8 (and this was ONLY 1.5 points behind the BMW)

(yep, we could of had 1st & 2nd!)

*Top quotes from 'auto experts' -
"This new Land Rover should make other manufacturers think again"
and
"Land Rover engineers have produced a vehicle that combines first-class on-road manners with genuine off-road ability"

I reckon Land Rover are gonna sell a hell of alot of these!!

hope you are right Knight

but alas at the bucks they want for them, i wont be amongst the happy buyers style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif

but i have to admit i am left wondering how are LRA going to stuff this one up. everytime they have an apparently winning number they seem to blow it...

can you say D90 ?

nothing else on the market to compete with it and they still cant (well couldnt now) get both hands round it and run with it...

hope to hell they surprise the crap out of me this time round.....

See my thread- I dont think it is as bad as we first thought. I dont think Land Rover will stuff this up (touching wood), a guy i used to work for, his son is doing an apprenticeship with ford and they sent him a way for a week to do a land rover tech course. It seems ford might be up to something. Mat

hey knight dearest..............
you seem to able to come up with all the facts

see if you can find out what sort of waiting list there is...............

im curious to see how many have already sold without the general public seeing or testing the beast.

i think we would all be interested......

we might even be able to compare that with the 130 series sales

I would be interested in that. It would be interesting to see how the Overlander 4wdoty award has influenced buyers to just trust Overlander and go out and order one. Matt

i was in the land rover game and i know the sales were there before the cars were. people would hear a new model was coming out in six months time and would order and wait.

the first shipment was already sold before it would arrive by months.

anyone wanting to walk in of the street could test drive the demonstrator, sign the paperwork, then wait....and wait...and wait...

it took me three months wait to buy a defender in 03. it would have been a lot longer if i actually waited for the colour the wife wanted. so i settled for roofracks as a bribe for accepting a white one.....my choice of colour.
