I was in Chiang Mai recently and saw this car parked. The owner wasn't around to ask about it. The interesting thing for me is that it has independent suspension. Also the big tyres which I assume are not standard.
Also the only austin I had heard of was the austin champ.

The Austin Gypsy was contemporaneous with the Series 2. Its 'advanced' independent rubber suspension was going to wipe the floor with Landrover - five years later it had conventional leaf sprung solid axles, and ten years later had vanished without a trace. (literally in most cases - the all steel body seems to rust even faster than a Landrover bulkhead!) John

That Gypsy isn't running the original axle set up as it has beam axles were the original set up was independant suspension and also was five stud wheels the same as Land Rover.

There are a few people on this forum who have Gypsys.
