Without getting political,if you knew what he has done to some, possibly most parts of the public service, you would easily see that he and his crew have absolutely no idea what they are doing, none at all....
And no i don't work there, but we do some contract work for them.

I have two good friends that work at the Townsville hospital and both tell me some shocking stories that have all come about from staff shortages and funding cuts to vital services. The president of our fishing club works at Stuart prison with very similar stories. Without making this into a political thread things have only gotten worse since Can-do took over.

You can't keep borrowing indefinitely without a day of reckoning ... so where do they cut expenditure. If the other mob had got back the state would either be bankrupt or they would have cut budgets likewise... think about it;)

True, but you can cut back in the short term, but once your term is over,it is going to cost a lot more to sort out the mess in the long term.
No good rushing around, cutting everything to pieces without thinking about it,and not doing it in a sensible business way,and looking at the big picture.

The last thing i want to say in regards to Can-do, Townsville hospital, one of the worst in the state, Townsville has the highest jobless in the state, Bruce highway between Townsville and Cairns gets cut off every wet season, Two schools sold,Three major road improvement projects have been cancelled, Major reduction in research funding for the Barrier Reef at JCU,Highest rate of car theft in the state, All the above were issues he promised at election time to fix,not a single thing has changed yet he and his team were awarded MASSIVE pay rises at the start of the year. From what i see a lot of money spent in the Brisbane,Gold and Sunshine coast's and the rest of us up north can get stuffed.
He promised the North so much and has done absolutely nothing, Maybe the people in the south of the state get a good deal off him? But up here things have gotten worse in a very short time. And i don't buy into this whole they have to fix the previous governments mistakes bull****. If that was the case why promise the people up north things you had no hope of achieving.

IMHO I started doubting long ago if the problem with both parties is about political ideology or in the way that the economist on those parties have being educated at University level.
Every time that a new government come it have two solutions, cut costs by retrenching people or selling the " jewelry" (privatization of assets that make money)
At the end we finish with massive unemployment with the social implications that are more costly than the wages that these people earned plus we lost assets and the control of them.
For implementing the above two " solutions" they are very quick to act but to come with the logical solution of creating conditions that generate jobs they are very slow to not say incapable.

At the risk of incurring the wrath, I totally agree with you. Katter, & Yanner, all you have. I believe, the NT & NQ, should be one state. Bob

Many people label Katter a bit of a crack pot,but i think he makes a lot of sense. And he loves the north and wants to see it improve. He needs stronger policies to be taken seriously.

Well said.
And I DO work for the Queensland Government. Shortsightedness abounds.
