1970 Series IIB Forward Control

We have owned this 11b for about 12 yrs after working out how old our son is now. been mainly used around the property and a few weekends away no beach ..... it has sat idle for a few yrs and decided to move it on. I have put fresh fuel in her and new coolant just looking at clutch and brake cyl now then its ready to rock and roll again .... it was fully rebuilt by previous owners when they travelled from sa to darwin then back to brisbane where I purchased the vehicle.

Quick! Get the machine that goes "ping".

That is a lovely FC you have there Jeff. I'll mention this to a few people I know who are looking for "interesting" projects.

This vehicle has low mileage on the reconditioned 202 motor.
And is in VGC.
Gearbox and Syncro in VGC
I was told that the vehicle is fitted with ENV diffs.
Free wheeling hubs
Twin Fuel tanks.
Twin Battery set up for solar power.
Water storage tank.
BBQ plate fitted to vehicle.
Shovel fitted to vehicle.
Spare wheel carrier.
Has original allominium tray with wooden floor and galv body fitted on top. Can easily be put back to hoop and tarp.
has canvas awning that rolls out from side of vehicle.
Large tool box passenger side.
Storage rack for 3 Jerry cans.
Allominium cabin roof rack.
rear allominium step ladder to access into rear cabin and that folds away under rear door.
Fridge.
Dining seating area that folds into comfy double bed.
Has cabin access from front seats to rear cabin inside vehicle.
Chasis is in VGC. No rust. Spring hangers all in VGC
WOW rear cross member bar under rear cabin door has a little bit of rust in crossmember.
Bulk head has the usual little bit of rust but only at the very bottom.
passenger top half of door frame has rust and needs to be replaced.
I have tried to give as honest as an appraisal as I can.
As this Forward Control is definitely worth a look at as it has great potential for a Landrover enthusiast.
Please feel welcome to call me if you have any queries.

Its one we didn't know about before but it is unlikely to be an "E" suffix, more likely to be a "B" suffix.

The "E" only started several hundred chassis later.

Certainly looks like an E on that compliance plate (pic added to original post).

Jeff, we still need to know if it is registered. I assume it's not.

Just seems rather odd that 182 would be E when vehicles before and after are B.

I know that my 33100095A came off the assembly line a month after my 33100105A, this is something that sometimes happens with parts supply shortages or fit & finish problems.

Perhaps your vehicle came off the line and when eventually completed they finished it off with later parts making it a later suffix.

Does it have an all synchromesh gearbox or synchro only on 3rd and 4th?

Just trying to sort out what Suffix "E" actually means. The suffix on F/C do not equate to the suffix on normal control vehicles.

Yes I understand what your saying loatz a landies on the variance in some chassis numbers ..... yes all syncro gearbox

The picture of the compliance plate is pretty unequivocally an 'E' - but it would not surprise me in the slightest if this was a case of someone copying a poorly stamped 'B' off the chassis and using the wrong stamp!
