She said, "I'm appalled by What Car? choosing the Land Rover at a time when we are supposed to be reducing the amount of greenhouse gases we produce.
This was a quote from the person behind the whole thing. Doesnt she know that the TDV6 is one of the most advanced economic and clean diesels around. Sure the petrol is more of an issue, but the diesel surely isnt, that quote has little merrit to it. Matt

funny how they try to influence your vote by the voting box showing 68% for yes and 31.something% for no, but when you cast your vote, the real statistics show 41-59 in "no"'s favour

funny you should mention the lesbian issue.
i was out at breakfast with a group of friends, one of which is a rather outspoken middle aged and slightly screwed up lesbian and out of the blue she had a dig at 4wd's. i politely suggested to her that it was not politically correct to pidgeon hole people and generalise people who share an interest or situation. she eventually changed the subject and went on to lambast something else. probably just as well it ended there, i was just about to liken the generalisation of four wheelers to putting all lesbians in to the same basket as man-hating whingers that are mostly too ugly to get a man and therefore carry a huge chip on their shoulders that the world is against them.
quite happy to judge everyone else but not so keen to be judged themselves.
don't want to be stared at but wear enough goudy clothes to guarrantee that people DO stare at them
hate men but insist on wearing jeans, work boots, flannelette shirts and a short back and sides. (why is it that lesbians hate men but dress like men and gays don't want to be with women but most of them dress and behave effeminately, so therefore apart from the anatomy, they are pretty much with a female....and they reckon it's not a mental disorder!),
don't get me wrong, i don't hate these people, everyone has a right to their own lifestyle, and we do have quite a few friends that bat for the other side, but that doesn't mean that i have to agree with their lifestyle, i just have to accept it and them for who they are.

By and large I thought it was a sensible and well reasoned argument.
"If they need to go off road that's OK, but if they just want a fashion item, there's really no need to buy one."
Its just that the "see-4wd-see-red-brigade" who are the threat don't work on sense and reason.

No arguement on that one from me OI. If people were only allowed to buy 4wds if they were genuinely going to use it for the purpose it was intended, 3/4 of toyo and nissan sales would disappear. style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif matt
