County wipers....

Slowly fixing the old girl!....Since i got her a month ago, the wipers havent worked.
Fuse is okay.
Took the column apart and removed the switch...No wonder that wasnt working it had no little brass balls :)!!
So...I have thrown that in the bin. Now, while waiting to get a replacement, I thought I would just wire up some type of switch to see if i had wipers at all....
5 wires in column, 2 have power.
I would have thought that by touching a power to any one of the unpowered wires, something should happen to the wipers (????). Nothing.
Even tried earthing it and still nothing.....?'relay maybe??...if so, where is that!!!
Checked the motor itself a week ago and it has power going to it.....
Help!!

Wipers are opposite to most systems IRC. The switch supplies negative.

Hi

I had problems with my County wiring wipers were kaput.


I rewired mine per a number a lucas wipers found on line link to Lucas Diagram attached.


I would also give all the linkages a coat of grease mine were partially seized.
