Hi all. My D3 has recently started doing weird stuff with the rear parking sensors. They will function as normal, with the beeping increasing tempo as I get closer, BUT they will also sometimes sound a solid tone when there is nothing behind the vehicle. This is intermittent, obviously only when in reverse.
Is there a known issue with this, and a fix? I've searched already.
Thanks
Graeme

The cause could be a broken sensor wire still within its insulation so that it only sometimes looses contact. My D4 developed such a fault and inconsistent behaviour.

Mine meant there was dirt around the sensor face and grommet..
Pressure wash sorted it all ;)

We had ours turned off, so much better.

G'day Will,
I had the same thing: sometimes it worked, but mostly I got the solid beep. I tracked it down to one sensor, working this out by selecting reverse, glen selecting neutral on a flat surface and getting out and covering each sensor until I found the faulty sensor (obviously don't put the park brake on). Low- tec solution, I have just covered the sensor with a wad of blu-tac. I need to replace it but I haven't got around to it as yet.
