Sebastian Vettel to quit Red Bull Racing at end of Formula One season (http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-10-04/vettel-to-quit-red-bull-at-end-of-f1-season/5790622)

I expected that, but to me his replacement it is a surprise.
I was thinking in Alonso moving from Ferrari to Red Bull or the MB team and one of the drivers in the MB team to Red Bull.

I guess that the good news is that Daniel Ricciardo will be the N1 driver :)

Well Kyvat is in a red bull sponsored care and where Ricciardo came from as well, though I dont think he is a good choice as has shown to be a bit of a Cowboy.
As for Vettel good riddance and would be better if he left F1 altogether, he single handedly hs done so much damage to the sport as an arrogant, self centred sook.

I agree with you I just read THIS NEWS (http://www.f1today.net/en/news/ferrari-on-the-cusp-of-announcing-alonso-split) and appears that he is going to Ferrari.

Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner has confirmed that Sebastian Vettel will be heading to Ferrari next season. (http://www.speedcafe.com/2014/10/04/horner-confirms-vettels-move-ferrari/)

Just another sook that cant handle being beaten by his team mate. ( not that I think there is anyone other than vettel in his team ).

As has been said goodbye and good riddance. Red Bull will be better for it

Cheers Ean

Why would Alonso want to go back to McLaren - I guess $50M is a good reason. It would be interesting to know if Hondas return to McLaren influenced or assisted this decision.

Honda engine already faster than current Mercedes in their simulated testing

So what damage has Sebastian done to Formula one ?? I'm intrigued.

By the way Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari did their talks at the start of the season, this isn't really news.

His contract is actually with Honda not Mclaren which is a very smart move i think. With the updated chassis mated to what is looking like a very impressive Honda engine,i think we can expect to see McLaren back near the top.

From what Martin Brundle has said,Cristian Horner was not that happy that Vettel left it till this late in the season to tell Red Bull of his move. And also the deal with Ferrari is worth $75 million a season. Even though he has been involved with Red bull since he was 12 years old, that sort of money per year is very hard to turn down. I personally don't like Vettel, but in saying that i have enormous respect for his talent. He is in a very elite class of drivers,in regards to his four world championships. When you brake it down it is very impressive,
Nelson Piquet-3 titles
Jackie Stewart-3 titles
Niki Lauda-3 titles
Jack Brabham-3 titles
Alain Prost-4 titles
Sebastian Vettel-4 titles, Some very impressive drivers in that list. Also the first driver to break Nigel Mansell's record for most pole positions in a season. He is also fourth on the list for most overall F1 wins behind,Schumacher,Prost,Senna, Impressive names in that list.

And what makes his titles special is the drivers he was up against when he won all his world titles, the F1 grid was packed with talent. Alonso,Hamilton,Button,Rakkonen, All world champions. In contrast Schumacher had paper thin resistance for many years, even in his own words the ONLY driver he feared was Mika Hakkinen. So like i said at the start of this post i don't like him,to me him comes across as arrogant and reacts very poorly to situations when they don't go his way. Personally i have not seen such toxic team relationships since the Prost/Senna days. He is about himself more than the team. But,his record has to be respected.

McLaren will be back at the top with the honda engine but not with Alonso as Ron Dennis refuses to have him back
Alonso will be with Mercedes in 2015 or sitting the year out
If not 2015 then in 2016 and Hamilton will be back at Mclaren
