Ben Felten is the disability support officer at our local council. He was recently in the news when the Penrith Optus store refused to sell him a mobile phone because he didn't have a driver's licence. He did, however, have 100 points of other identification.
Ben had gone into the store with his guide dog. He then went to Telstra and they sold him a phone.
Anyway, I was talking to Ben's sister and she told me he's about to attempt to break the blind motorcycle speed record of 265km/h. He'll be doing to at Temora airfield. Ben was a motorcyclist before going blind. I understand he'll be on The Project on Ch 10 (?) this Thursday.
