would love to go but the Rangy has been out of action for going on 3 weeks now which makes the 3hr drive a bit hard :? but i'll let Camo know, we were discussing doing this in a few weeks when mine's up and running again.

If we don't see you, have a great time style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Hmmm Well I can tell you that the place was dry & dusty with very little water , Also there was a post on here somewhere about tyre size, I can tell you for fact that 245/75/16 DO NOT fit on a 96 series 1 Disco. I have the damage on my back guards to prove it. ( NOT HAPPY JAN )

Th guys who recomend this combination have offered to pay for the modifications to make them fit.

So generally a rather poor weekend.

I can tell however ( not that many would doubt it ) but my mates TD5 is in standard form with the exception of 235 Coopers and wow what a difference traction control makes.

We got there late Friday afternoon and went to check out the Pig Pen in my car, it was dark by this time and we saw a extremely articulating entrance , so I thought with my 2" lift and 245 Coopers my car was bullet proof, so I had one attempt and fell short half way up.

So a retreat back to the camp was decided and to have another go in the daylight the next morning.

When we went back the next daywe took both cars as RAT was keen to try out his TD5 on the hill, he decide to go first, I have to admit I was pretty shaw he wouldnt get up with his standard suspension, but 1st attempt straight to the top and it was all action ,wheels off the ground dirt flying but not a problem for his TD5.

This made me think I must have chosen a bad line last night , so off I went
about 4 attempts later I managed to clime to the top.

So I think a diff lock is required

style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif YES, It's true!!!!!! I made it to the top in one try!!!!!!!!
Traction control and centre diff lock make a huge difference. The only problem is, I need more clearance underneath, because my disco rubs its belly more than Kym Beazly after a tax payer funded lunch. It would be nearly bulletproof then. I am really a very carefull off roader because I can't afford to fix it if I f*** it! Noz forgot to mention that after only two Corona's, he reversed into a barbeque in the dark and crushed the corner of his rear bar. He was actually crawling through Cruiser canyon and crushed it on a boulder while driving with three wheels off the ground, no hands on the steering wheel, eating a happy meal, wearing high heels and checking his hair in the mirror. Believe whichever story you think is true! style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif Pity it was so dry. We are not going back any time soon. The other 4wd parks look more attractive now e.g. rover park, black duck, etc. If anyone wants to go to any other parks (with water and mud) I am sure Noz and myself will go!
Chris

Rover Park is quite nice, but a hell of a drive... just under 4 hrs from the north-end of the Gold Coast (despite the times their website gives)

and haven't been to Black Duck (where is it?)

Big drops means exactly that, when the tracks are muddy you tend to slip toward them without much control style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif
