TD5 on Gumtree

Gday All,


There is a defender on gumtree add id 1058458912, its at a car yard in Penrith NSW and would be the cheapest TD5 defender ever.
I emailed the caryard a few questions but got no reply, looks rough and one pic looks as tho it has rust under the rear passenger side windows along the seem...would this be possible, thought they were all alloy.


Anyone know of it or its history.?

If you look carefully at the photos - then it's overpriced even at that low price - it's covered in rust. The rear body caps look like they have been heavily rusted. The chassis looks rooted. I'd guess this has been used on a beach for a lot of it's life. I'd say the reason the spare is not on the rear door is because the rear door is not so badly rusted it won't shut with it on.

In other photos the bulkhead looks badly rusted too. Those white stains that are under the doors and on the bulkhead are most likely caused by the corrosion above. (So I'd guess the doors are rooted too.)

I'd be surprised if you could get a RWC on that - although it does say it comes with one.

Probably worth it in salvageable parts alone if the box and donk are good.

Specs list no aircon, dealer blurb says aircon....

T must have sold, it's been taken off gum tree and their website. Someone either got a good buy or is prepared to spend some $$
