Hey guys,

I'm installing a better sound system into my 110. I've installed a RCA splitter into the head unit and have one signal going to my new amp and the other feeds a signal to the existing Alpine Sub. During my install I've yet to come accross the amp that drives the sub. I need to find it as the gain is to high so would like to adjust it.

I'm assuming its in the front dash somewhere??

Regards,

Are you sure it's not an active sub?

I had thought that originally but researching online I found Alpine supplies two models that match the description of what's in the Puma, and both are driven by an external amp.

Hmm, the sub box is actually in two parts: the speaker section and then some electrickery (seemed to be the power amp but not the gain / LP adjustment shown on http://italy.alpine-europe.com/p/Products/powered-subwoofer-boxes45/swe-1200 )
Once the sub is unbolted from the cubby box this reveals another set of screws allowing access to these components (and extra cable).
When I was in there (during an ex-box install) I didn't notice any adjustment dials, but then again I wasn't looking for them specifically as I adjust gain from the (stock) head unit.
Not sure if that is what you are after, but hope this helps...

Thanks. I'll pull it apart and take a look. It's sounding like I'll need to buy the controller to set the gain and LP.
