Was interesting to see the new track. Didn't think much of it myself, but it seems to please the drivers.
Was good to see that Jules was not forgotten by all the teams.
Its getting a bit crowded for sticker space on the Mercs with the tributes to Schumacher, and now a little bit about Jules.
Was good to see Marrichus (spelling) had the car repaired and sitting there empty, in the garage waiting for Jules to come back.....thought that was a nice touch.
Hamilton got pole.
Big day tomorrow, up early for Bathurst, then F1's at night.
Woohoo!:):)

Ricciardo qualified 6th. Even more impressive is his future teammate Kyvatt qualifying 6th in this lesser vehicle. They will be a powerful combination if they have a good car under them in the next few years.

How long have they been racing in Russia? I haven't watched Motorsport in years (not even MotoGP).

Stupid looking track, I did not expect Red Bull to be that far off the pace, and it is a nice touch all the teams showing a bit of respect.

What a boring event. I actually fell asleep in front of the TV.

Same here mate, I have been a F1 fan for many years but this season i have not been engaged nowhere near like i used to be. I fully agree with Martin Brundle, there has to be more of a penalty for running wide in corners, whether it be a barrier or tyre bundle. Many may disagree, but i have found the racing lacking in excitment this year, and I have not found the cars very interesting either. We don't see the battles like we used to,Schumacher and Hakkenin fighting for the whole race. And some of the tracks do not have much overtaking in their design. As Jackie Stewart once said "modern F1 drivers make for more mistakes than past drivers because there is no penalty when they do make a mistake," If it wasn't for Daniel,i don't think i would even be watching this year, which i thought i would never say. The F1 i grew up watching and following is well and truly gone. We need more manufactures and bigger fields more engine builders, just more hard core balls out racing.

IMO the reason why it is boring is because on team is heaps better that the others.
Turn 3 for me is among the best turns in the championship.
The circuit it is technical, drivers and teams need to use their heads to finish the race in a good position.

I went an had a shower and went to bed, boring, same same with all the tracks these days. Safety is one thing, but there should be a penalty (other than your life) for running off the track.:(

Kerbs should be like on the road, hit one and you at least need to stop for a new tyre, :twisted:or let the kerbs be off set dipps, to run the car further away from the track and see how many drivers touch them then, racing is something I love, fast cars yeah, but drivers need to not take unreasonable chances or risks and knowing that there is no penalty for taking a silly chance surely encourages them to do more of it.

I think they need to also start racing 500cc diesel engines in F1 and let's see what advances can be made there!

Yes without Daniel Ric, I would not be watching. I find the same with MotoGP. I have gone right off it, and watch young Jack Miller in Moto3 instead.

Have to admit, that Russian track really did seem a tad Y A W N !
I had fortunately recorded it, so I was able to skip about 20 laps!

Most new tracks are starting to outline the title, "Yawn Prix"! Agree with you Discovery 39, since the ability of recording, fast forwarding the race makes it easier to fathom such tracks.

As for the track itself, it looked good for the first 3 laps and then everything falls in line. Great track for cars around thew same spec, as some of the sections allows a few more lines into a corner for racing/overtaking.

I wish they would get rid of Tilke and wings/aerodynamics and we may see some interesting racing again.

Just my thoughts, What i want to see is a drivers championship, not a series that favours the team with the most money.
