Was just wondering if anyone could help me out with a little history. I have owned my series 2a (Alfred the great) for about 12 years now which was a one owner from new before me and spent its life working in NSW forests. I was informed it was a 63 model when I got it but have since found it was a 62. It was brought to Australia by the SS Hector in 62 and delivered to a Grenville motors ltd in the September. On roadworthing the car the guy at the garage wrote down that it was a 67 model unfortunately. I am trying to get a personal number for the old girl that relates to her age. Can anyone confirm the chassis no 24302100a is 62 although the engine 25212041F seems to be later. I need to get some written evidence to show QLD transport before they will amend the rego...thx for any help given....Paul

Ok, remlr.com can help here.
:)
The Aust Army supply contract for the CKD S2A has all the details on early 2A 88s. The army 88in registrations begin around 3/1963 (ch 24303300A) and are listed here:

Certainly not 1967, as that would have a 'C' suffix. But I don't have any documentation to support that. If you put the chassis number into Calvin (Clifton Scientific Text Services, the Netherlands (http://www.clifton.nl/index.html?calvin.html)) it will give the range of years covered by the suffix, but I don't know whether that will be enough for them.
