It's a 1965 M63 Ural, currently sitting in Moldova and soon to be pulled apart and shipped to me. Most likely will need a full rebuild but parts are cheap. Just wanted something odd with my LR

Yep I owned one. One of the most reliable bikes I ever owned, a very underrated bike

I recall them being sold here under the UralMoto name.
Came with a sticker on the tank said From Russia With Love, and a pint of genuine Russian Vodka.
The riders manual was a cherry, mentioned that the brakes had the "capacity to become adequate", :o.
We used to joke that, by the time you got to that section of the manual, you had enough Vodka inside you it didn't matter.

There's a fellow in town here with a mustard yellow Ural outfit (near new). He commutes on it judging by his riding times. Makes me smile every time. We have a BMW R65 and I'm a fan of the engine configuration.

My brother in shanghai has 2 of the chinese copies of the ural which is a WWII bmw copy anyway, with sidecars. Hopefully he will bring them back when he comes home.
