Hello all
Have been having a little bit of an electrical issue with my dune buggy (with a 1998 Yamaha FZS600 Fazer motor).
The engine has only just been installed as it's a replacement for a CB250, the problem is no spark, as I've been playing with the loom to change it from road bike to buggy...
The whole lighting system has been cut out aswell as the dash, however the motor ran fine without any of this connected and as I've only shortened the wires I can't see the problem!!
We have power at the two coil packs when the ignition is turned on, however no spark.
I've checked the resistance of the ignition pickup coil, and it is within spec, however I cannot tell if there is a signal being sent (put a test light on while motor was cranking [assuming +ve signal]).
So does anyone know anything about these systems??
Pretty close to putting it on the trailer and going to an auto electrician ($$$) :(
The other thing is whether a component is fried or whatever...
Thanks in advance
Will
