starter motor querie

Hi all.

Is there different starters that have the solenoid in a slightly different position ie pointing downwards? Im finding that i have no clearance between solenoid and steering column ( its in a gemini remember )

Yeah some early 70's Rover saloons have the solenoid hanging down. I had one once but I think I threw it away as it was too slow and later bosch starters work loads better on rrcs.
