The book says it should be there but there is no option to select.

Does it need addictional software or something activated?

If as I suspect you are talking about the Discovery and not the RRS I think you will find that you are not looking at the Australian specs.

The TV was an option and I don't think DAB was available to us in that model.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there TV is an option and DAB wasn't available in that model year.
