Hi,
Am trying to find an oil that I will be happy with to put in my 03 TD6.
Have been using Nulon 5-30w Longlife Diesel in it,but it seems to be rattling louder than when I first got it. ;)
Any suggestions welcome.
cheers

I use a semi synthetic from a local oil blender that my friends diesel workshop stocks. It makes the TD6 run incredibly smooth. Second choice would be Castrol Edge, but that's bloody expensive.
I'll try and dig up the name of the stuff - I can't remember what it's called of the top of my head. I did post somewhere else here about it some time ago. I buy it 20 litres at a time - at cost price - and it is less than buying 10 litres of Castrol Edge. Even at retail, it's cheaper.

A few indy's have told me to only use fully synthetic in the td6. So I have stuck to that rule, true or not. The Castrol magnatec diesel isn't full synthetic, but has been recommended to me by every car shop I have been too.
Castrol edge 5w30, penrite 10w40, shell 10w40, what ever is on special for $40 or less for a 5 litre. I change mine about every 3 months, always comes out smooth and black.
SUPERCHEAP had Castrol edge 5w30 on sale for $38 in august and I bought half a dozen, and then the next week repco had penrite 10w40 extra 10 zinc or something on sale for $39, so I guess that's my oil for the next 18 months :D

Thanks guys.
I might try Gulf Western Euro Energy 5w-30. I used to run my old D1 on there Top Dog and it ran fine.
cheers
