View Full Version : Seafood to Brisbane

Gday All,
Well here it is. Remember this year I am not able to do up the separate orders as I have in the past. The order will come in the standard 9kg boxes and you will need to separate them amoungst yourselves into what each person has ordered. This is as per the suggestion put forward in the General Chat post. I think in order to be fair to our Brisbane branch a minimum of 6 x 9kg boxes in total should be reached, however amount of people it takes to achieve that is not an issue.
Same rules as previous, 1 person to be the consignment co-ordinator and collector. I will do the Invoice and supply the bank account details to that person, same as in previous years. I have been asked if we can make pick-up on Monday 15th December... Does this suit ? It will be same place as last year- Raptis Colmslie.
Tiger u/10 XL-lge 3kg box = $70
Endeavour U/15 Lge 3kg box = $50
Endeavour 10/20 Med 3kg box = $40
Whole bugs 7kg box = $100
I will add whole bugs shortly, but boxes are 7kg, and are NOT in the kilo bugs like I have supplied in past few years.
You will see its slightly cheaper than last year as no freight/packing charges are included. As always check the prices against what you can get locally.
I am thinking cut off being Wednesday 3rd December, but once again I will be directed by whoever steps up and takes the job as co-ordinator.
Any questions just ask
Cheers Ean

Thanks Ean.
Can I suggest that everyone tries to keep their orders to 3x3kg lots of the same type (9kg), in order to make things simpler when we split it. i.e. iif you want a smaller quantity, try and find someone to split a 3x3 kg lot with.
I will start the orders off with:
6x 3kg Tiger u/10 XL-lge ($70 x 6 = $420)
3x 3kg Endeavour U/15 Lge ($50 x 3 = $150)
2x 7kg bugs

Gday All,
I have not heard a price for the whole bugs so made an executive decision.
The boxes may be slightly over or slightly under 7kg ( within 100grams ) but I have priced accordingly. I have added it to the original post.
It up to you guys now.

.....ALL ARE RAW...
Tiger/ Endeavour is the different species of prawns
The numbers are the count to equal 1 pound of prawns, so the less prawns that equal 1 pound the bigger the prawns are.
eg u/10 tiger is 9 or less to equal 1 pound or 20 or less for 1kg
10/20 is a smaller prawn because you need between 10-20 to make a pound.
Taste is personal and how you like to cook in my opinion.
I will leave the others to debate that one.

Queensland Prawn Species | King prawns | Tiger prawns | Endeavour prawns | Banana prawns (http://queenslandprawns.com/queenslandprawnspecies.html)
Whole bugs are run of catch , not graded, but work on 10 per kilo and it should be close.
Interesting link, found the King Prawn info amusing as the proberly the most well known king prawn comes from SA. According to that link they don't catch them there.

They come in a 3kg box which has a plastic liner inside, give the box a few taps on the floor or bench then open it up and just take out what you want and put the rest back in the freezer.
I am sure Isuzurover will sort it all out soon.

Ean thanks for organizing the seafood for us!!!!! The Endeavour Prawns were really beautiful so were the bugs!!!!!
Don't mean to be negative, but this business of having to cook them was a pretty horrendous task, it took hours with 3 of us on it, with the setup we had ie a normal house. We really just weren't geared up for it. Won't be doing it again for that reason. Why do you sell them like this, in all my years of eating seafood I've never encountered it? I'm guessing you'll say because they will taste fresher?
Anyway Merry Christmas!!!!

It's called market demand, less than 5% of people want them pre cooked, maybe because not everyone wants to eat them boiled, they want them in the many different ways that buying them raw allows.

Half of the fun is finding new ways to cook them....
I had the same trouble last year in the kitchen cooking for hours for Christmas lunch for the extended family, solved it this year by hiding them in the freezer as they were too good to share :D
Those in the family who wanted some this year bought there own to cook.
Once again thank Ean.
