re: maf settings

Hi all I have been playing with maf settings I have set to 1 -1.5 but I have noticed the settings don't change when motor is running they keep the same settings as with ignition on someone said at tick over it should read 1.7does this mean my maf is not working properly .?

It would be good to include the model of car you want the info about ie..Disco 2 ?

Oops sorry guys but new to this it's a disco 1 timing set to 12 and base idle at factory spec 3.9 and all standard everything else eg air cleaner
