Disco II Overhaul Experience Needed

155.000 miles 2002 Discovery
Head gasket failure on # 7 ......water on # 8 but the gasket held there ..only on #7 was a visible failure in the gasket....Machined the heads. Changed the gears in the oil pump and front cover gasket with new chain ,new fan clutch , gaskets , seals, belts, pulleys and also the power steering pump etc. The pistons have been topped with Marvel Mystery Oil for the Past 8 Month...Do you think the rings are going to be fine at this point , or should I change them? I removed the Oil sun, everything looks good down there..but this is my first time ...need your help please.
THIS IS THE VERY IMPORTANT QUESION PLEASE :
Would you.... or is it advisable to change the Piston Rings and Bearings. I'm would only Deglazed with Block-on ...any comments or suggestions... This is Head gasket failure number two.
I'll be cutting the Cats off and I'm wrapping all the pipes from the mani down with silicone wrap and spray them with Thermo Tec 2000 degree. I also got the 180 thermostat...
Missing anything ? Thanks for your help and comments...

Gee, that looks like a lot of rust on the bore of #8, and it looks like the bore may be pitted in the pic of it cleaned up? Has it been sitting for a long time with water in the bores? I'll assume #7 would be similar. Can you feel pits in the bore wall with your finger nail?

I'm a td5 owner and ex-Ford mechanic so I've never pulled down one of these, but if this was my car or a customer's and I wanted to have a degree of confidence in it, I would be looking at honing the bores and fitting new rings and bearings at the very least.
Why go to that effort and risk having the thing drink more than my grandmother did?

As Dave mentions ....

Looks like 8 months of rust to me ... I think your up for some reconditioning of the motor.

- Yes a Minuscule bit, but I'll be lying to myself if I tell you that it was smooth... thought I think I cleaned them fairly well_ without any metal at all.
-Do you think your suggestion could be achieved without taking the block out?

That dark stuff inside rthe pic of the bore looks like pitting. When you say you cleaened them up, did you give them a bit of hone with a honing tool?
If not you may be lucky giving it a slight hone and put some hask marks back in the bore, the bore look too smooth
