Replaced the power steering pump on my 2000 V8 D2 this morning. Followed the instructions on rave disc to bleed but am having no luck. If I move wheel from lock to lock , even with bleed screw right out I get nothing. When the vehicle is switched off the fluid will then seep out. Steering is heavier than an old HQ. What have I done????:o

Is the fluid moving around in the container? It should be moving around pretty aggressively.
Did you put the belt back on? :wasntme:

yep, belt back on and in correct position. the fluid does move around and out the top, even at minimum line. when I start motor and go full lock to full lock it'll overflows a bit, but nothing forced out of bleed nipple. Soon as engine stops the fluid drains back down and out bleed nipple? is this new pump a dud?

Are you turning the wheel both ways to full lock. I only changed my power steering pump the other week and I found when turning it one way, nothing came out the bleed nipple, when turning it the other it shot up like a volcano.

yep, full lock both ways. After cleaning the fluid off the vehicle and the driveway, I have a leak from the low pressure pipe at the pump. It was very soft, maybe a blockage in this pipe/somewhere?

Thinking I might have to pull it all apart again and check pipes.

Could be the suction pipe collapsing on itself and blocking flow.
