Hi there

Seems like it's time for a look at the brakes. I don't have any experience in changing brakes myself but i do have a rudimentary understanding of the form and function of the system.

I am also a tight arse and just had a minor heart attack at the $1240 quote to replace all four rotors and pads.

I'm based in Brisbane and wondering if this is a normal cost for a Disco 3 (2006 tdv6) or are they having a lend?

I also don't suppose someone feels like teaching a noob how to service his brake system for the first time?

Cheers!

Google "bodsys brake bible" on disco3.co.uk and you will be enlightened about all things d3 brakes.

That price does sound mildly off the planet !

Is that price from a dealer or independent? The price seems very steep even for all four.
Definitely shop around.

Hey Mike, that was from an independent. I was pretty floored by the quote.

I have had all 4 rotors and pad replaced, including the pad wear indicators, and it was no where near that. Don't have time to dig out receipts at the moment.

I'd be shopping around. If you get online, you should be able to work out a cost for parts. I reckon parts should be about 600. Add 75 per hour give or take for labour.
