Hey,
I've seen recently on a couple of discos that guys like to have the rear springs loose of their base so that when the car flexes they dislocate from there and it gives you longer travel and they relocate back onto the cones.
What needs to be done to do this with brake lines etc. ? Do you need longer shocks ?
Cheers

Yeah luke, you need longer brake lines, longer shocks, then wanky cones! Better off retaining the coil top and bottom, makes the front end work more.

Hi vern,
What do you mean by retaining the top and bottom and regarding the front end?

Bolt the coil in top and bottom.
There is a thread going at the moment on relocating cones. Have a read.

Silly Flex is for ramp comps...
Balanced articulation = control and traction.
Lockers finish it off...

Currently running a 2'' lift with 245/75. Don't do serious 4x4 work only enjoy using it for hunting access in the high country. Would you class this as ample for what I need? Maybe centre diff lock down the track

More than ample for what you do, air down the tyres to suit conditions and you'll be fine, if it's an aftermarket springs and shocks you've got 9 out 10 will have better than factory flex anyway. I'd save that money for centre diff lock then even with diagonal wheels in the air you'll still go forward.

Do the CDL soon.
Makes the vehicle noticeably better and safer when reversing down steep hills

Youd be hard pressed to make a properly setup flexy Disco2 articulate enough to need spring retainers. The suspension design isnt all that good for loose articulation.
