A different hood lining question

Well after buggering around with the first D2 with a knackered head, and looking at some engine replacement options, I took a punt and purchased another D2 and will sell off the old one.

The new one is a 2001 ES V8 and has had the hood lining replaced at some point. It is all good but is sagging in the centre where the lights and vents are for the back seat (not dickey seats)

It seems the hood lining needs support and with the vents and wiring it is pulling the whole lining down a little. It is not the lining detached as I took out the rear light and the whole thing is pulling down.

My guess is that it should have been reattached somewhere and it wasn't or something else wasn't like wiring etc.

I also am missing the extra space in the back because of the aircon pump in the rear row taking up so much space, but the leather is nice as is the higher spec.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Yes it is, but you can work out he's talking about the headlining inside on the roof;)

Thinking about two things at once, roof lining would be correct.

I assume you are referring to the fabric is sagging? If so then some dress making pins may hold it for a while, but to fix properly it may need to be removed and new fabric fitted. There is a fibreglass shell that the fabric is glued to and that is what holds it all up.
If it is not just the fabric hanging loose then possible the shell is damaged?

Thanks, the material itself is not sagging so it may be the fibreglass is damaged. It is not terrible so I won't bother too much, I just wasn't sure if all the plumbing or wiring for the rear air con wasn't attached and it was that, that was pulling it down.

Just a thought. We've got saggy headlining caused by a leaky sunroof. Might be worth checking on the cause before trying to fix the headlining.
