Ok, its been a few months since wrapping the rangie in the 3m vinyl wrap and i have finally acquired some damaged (Not that i went looking for it) and unfortunately most of it was self inflicted

All the light pin striping did obviously not make it thru to the paint so that is a win.

One large scratch was done by a stick, the paint damage is unknown at this point but hopefully the wrap took most of it (only penetrated at the rear end of the scratch), I think the silver under the gray makes it a bit more noticeable than it should be.

The larger sections on the rear wheel arches was my bad, after bogging myself down to the belly on what I can only describe as the softest sand in the known world and using the high lift jack to lift each wheel out, the angle wasnt perfect and in the rush and exhaustion it lent against the body.

This however gave me somthing to patch up and see what it turns out like...not to bad for a 5 second fix, eventually the entire panel will need to be re-done but that can wait.

Nice.

Did you apply it yourself, and is the clear known to fade with UV exposure?

I'm interested for my L322.

Yeah i did, its quite long and hurts the fingers in the end, but well worth the money saving!

The clear im not to sure about, mine is a matte finish. I was originally going to use a full clear wrap because the original silver is nice to look at but as fate has it I had acquired a free roll of the matte grey...and presto, the decision was made for me.

But definitely give it a go. There are some tricky spots tho that mite take a while.

can I ask what $$ it costs? do you need any special tools? hard to do curves?

I'm thinking of covering a classic......

Cost was free, I had found it under the house I had moved into... but usally around $500 for a roll.

You will need a heat gun ($50 from bunnings), some cleaner like brake clean and some "lint free" rags so it wont leave any fibres on the paint.

apart from that, just some patience hahaha but give it a go, some bits are tricky, but its wonderful stuff to work with and you can always pull it off and do it again
