Can someone please explain......after almost a year of trouble with my Landrover discovery, this morning I finally let her go to a better home, to be loved back to life or parted. I felt a bit of a mixed reaction, I genuinely liked the old girl, but seeing her on the back of the tow truck was a bit of a relief too.
So now my mind is set, im going to buy a nice easy, cheap ford falcon ute on gas...simple you might think....
I lasted 4 hours.......4 friggin hours......sigh
Welcome my new money pit.....

Good move!
Now you won't have to worry about the window winders or electric window failing. You won't have to be careful not to break the cup holders or the electric seat warmers being too hot or too cold. You won't have to get the air con re-gassed. No central locking problems.
In fact there are probably dozens or maybe hundreds of things that go wrong on Discos that will never fail on a Series because they aren't fitted.
:p

4 hours! You wavered on the verge for quite a while, but I'm glad you came to your senses and made the right choice. :)

Great move!
It would have taken you months and months to find a falcon with character ;)
Something about this marque that gets in your blood.

Far better choice than a Falcon. It doesn't get more simple than a series. And as per previous posts they are so much more fun and have heaps of character. :D

Someone have to come with a vaccine against Landrovitis !
I sold my Defe and got a beautiful Peugeot 406 coupé now, I am going to put it on the market in the next 2 weeks and look for Range Rover (1988-1992) or a Disco Tdi300.

I am truly cursed it seems....driving back to home, I've just found out due to a previous motorcycle injury I cant physically drive the manual, got out of the old girl after 20mins of driving and almost collapsed in agony from my reconstructed knee......time to cry like a toddler, flip her onwards and buy an auto......DAMMIT

Bugger. Not up to converting it to an auto are you?

Unfortunately I don't have any room to work on the old girl in that way, bit of clean, polish, paint or bolt on and off parts is fine, gearbox swap on the street would be a nightmare.

Just learn to change gear without using the clutch.

Everyone has nisse the far simpler truth.
There is a reason why 80% of the landrovers ever made are still on the road today. Its because of people like you.
Well done.

Would be possible to put a Tdi300 engine and auto GB in a shorty series like yours?
There are so nice

What about a clutch vac booster system
Good thought, I saw that done on an old escort so the elderly owner could keep driving it. Made the clutch light as a feather.

the Vac booster would certainly help, unfortunately being 6'4", its also a problem for geometry!, I have to have my leg at a strange angle, never quite on the floor! Anyway have a chap inbound to buy her....moving on....wheres the next landy...... freelander would be ok if they were not so badly made, hundreds for sale with dodgy gearboxes and engines, lol

The add for that rig is still up on Gum Tree and I only had a look at it earlier today. It is a fine looking example of a series 3, it's a shame it doesn't suit you....or should that be "you don't suit it?"
Power assisted clutch sounds like the way to go!
Cheers, Mick.

That is the AD i posted last night, for a fast sale i will knock $1000 off for any forum member, bring $2200 cash, some ear muffs to drive her home or a trailer and shes yours. Will post up on the Markets later tonight
Price drop just because most of us understand what they will be like!, they are not shiny, yes they leak a bit of oil, no the heater switch isn't connected!, just some of the comments I've had today.
